Women Led Dynamic Agroforestry and Cocoa in Ivory Coast
Ivory Coast and Ghana produce over ⅔ of the global supply of cocoa. The industrial cocoa sector in West Africa has come under fire for paying unfair prices, leading to child and forced labor, deforestation, and poverty. Climate change has exacerbated the cocoa crisis in recent years, leading to poor harvests.
To support and inspire Ivorian cocoa farmers, KANY is organizing dynamic agroforestry demonstration farms to act as training centers and rapidly scale out agroforestry in the region. Dynamic Agroforestry (DAF) aims to diversify farmer incomes by implementing ecological designs that are more climate resilient.
